Web-based email management for email overload
Duration: October 2004 - April 2005
Target User: Web-based email users
Details:
Master degree (MS in HCI) thesis.

The amount of emails has burgeoned due to the fact that many users use mail in a wide range of activities. Although email was originally designed as a communication application, it is wildly used for additional functions that it was not designed for. For example, many users make use of email service for task management and personal archiving.

There are many web-based email services such as Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail, and Gmail. These services respond to consumer demands by providing bigger storage space for free. However, it is difficult for users to manage inboxes with the large volume of emails.

The intention of this study was to develop the new web-based email interface that handles email overload problem.

The room schedule project was developed as a web application that assist faculties to manage their schedule in share rooms. They can view the room schedule by calendar or by sortable table. Students can also view the table to see when and where their instructor will be available.
